When she was first found Bina was hurt badly and  in a lot of pain.  Her hip was broken and her pelvis crushed where a man was stepping on her.  She was also having a hard time breathing. 3 Chihuahua's had been picked up and taken to animal control.  It had been decided that MicahBina was not worth saving, so she was in a box on the table in the euthanasia room waiting to die.  A rescue worker came in to the shelter to pick up another dog of a completely different breed and asked about the other 2 chi.  When she was told about Bina she had to see her and she put a hold on all 3.  The shelter would not release them to her until Monday morning.  When she returned on Monday the little male was gone.  This lady took Bina and the other female (Blanca) and left.

The people who saved these two girls saw they had medical attention.  Slowly Bina got stronger and they let  Blanca stay with her and she made sure Bina was protected.  They saw the pair were close and they wanted to keep them together. It would be tough.  Placing one is difficult  enough. But Bina was very special needs.  And in addition to everything else, both were heartwormed in LA  told me about the girls and we did our "vacation" by doing 4 airports in one day (because I am terrified of flying and knew I would never be able to do an over-night!) Best to keep me moving while I am already numb with shock!

So that is the beginning of the continuing story of MicahBina and Blanca...

Hi!  My name is MicahBina, but Mom usually just calls me Bina.  Our new Mom lived far from where we were and fell in love with us just from our pictures!  We were so excited!

I have been here two years now and this is my home! Mom doesn't think I have the type of personality that would adjust to a new home.  While I love mom I am very shy and do not like strangers touching me.  I try not to be afraid when Mom takes me out to *socialize* but I quickly become afraid and want to get back into my crate.

I think I see a bug!

Move?  But it's warm here! What's that over there?

I LOVE my blankie!

Why am I outside? I didn't ask to come outside!

Must guard Mom!

My name is Blanca and I am immaculately WHITE thank you very much!  I too am a rescue and they think I am about 7 years old.  I am very protective of my little girl Bina.  The humans think I have had at least one litter and maybe two.  We were picked up and taken to a shelter where we were lucky enough to be kept together and my pup was cared for as well.  We were very luck in that there are a lot of shelters who would not have even tried to help her but would have "put her to sleep"...a rescue worker found us and took us away to a "foster home" where we stayed for a couple of months until we were well enough to travel.  During this time I was spayed as well.  Bina however was to weak and her broken bones were also a deciding factor.  We now have a new home with our very own human Mom who cares for us.  She helped us get stronger so we could go through the heartworm treatment...and we did!
