| I am Mandy (Swiftwater
Miranda) and I am the Alpha Queen...(not that glorified rat
with the ego and big head!) I am an exceptionally good-looking
tri-color smooth Jack Russell Terrier. I also am special and
have been spayed, chipped and tattooed. I have a knockout bod. Light-boned
with "classic" features! The boys pant and drool as I strut by. I
am extremely fast and can be, not only out of sight, but out of sound in the
blink of an eye. I am a great jumper and climber and enjoy
nature...sometimes...when the weather isn't too cold, muddy, wet. I
sleep in Mom's pillows as well as fight with Nina for heating pad
privileges...
Being in charge can be a heavy burden. Nina thinks
she rules, but really now...just what is going to be afraid
of a mouse dog afraid of paper? I am the ruler of all I can
see and vocally protect my demesnes with a constant patrol up and down the
stairs, voicing complaints at each window! Who would dare to touch what is mine
without first asking my permission?
My favorite snack is meat (big surprise huh?)...raw
or jerky (or anything in between). Some fruit and nuts...with apples cold
from the fridge a personal favorite! Peeled grapes fed one at a time by my
human every now and again. I also enjoy brushing and having my nails done
smooth and shinny...bubble baths and furry squeaky toys.
My hobbies include snake hunting, repeatedly
bouncing up and down, "exercising" Mom and irritating Nina. I also
make my Mom get her exercise every now and then by having her run all over
the neighborhood playing tag.
Mom has a lot of other dogs who come in and
out...some are broken on the outside and some are broken on the inside. Some
are broken both ways. Sometimes they stay here a lot longer than the
other ones. I don't understand a lot about it since I have been here
since I was a puppy. I have learned what I can and cannot do with
these new ones. In other words what will get me a "time out"
in my crate. When I was younger it was hard for me not to get angry at
these strange dogs in my house when they would growl at me. I
mean...it IS after all...MY house! But now when one of those comes
here it is easier for me to smell that they are broken and if they growl I
just lay on the back of the couch and watch them from there or some other
high place.

"I
want to weep with life, to tend its wounds,
to rub pure oil down deep
into life's pain and sing while life heals.
I want to be swept up in life's adventure,
to go where life calls me, to climb mountains,
explore caves.
I want to refuse life nothing."

The Ballad of the Jack Russell
Terrier
Show me a Doberman, I'll cut him to size.
I'll tear him to pieces In front of your eyes!
I'm cocksure and bossy, The queen of the patch.
Bring on your Alsation! It won't be a match!
I'm a dirty street fighter. My language is foul.
I'll fight to the death, never throw in the towel.
Don't step near my Mommy. Don't push me too far.
Get right off my pavement. take your hands off my car.
And when she's alone, I sit on her knee.
She knows she's quite safe Relying on me.
Don't walk by my lorry. When I'm at a show,
When I'm guarding my ponies, I'm lethal you know.
Other dogs can catch frisbees, but try as they might,
They can never compete. They just don't have my bite.
I'll follow a fox, To the depths of his lair,
But I like creature comforts--Get out of my chair!
I won't walk at a heel, Or sit when I'm told,
But I'm loving, protective, Brave, loyal and bold.
My life's full of moment, importance and bustle.
I know I'm the greatest, I'm called a Jack Russell!

Well, if one of you have a dog like this, let's video tape it for Most
Amazing Videos. I hate his expectations are so low.
Greetings,
My Name is Robert, and I am looking to adopt an Older short smooth
haired "Jack Russell Terrier" that someone has invested lots of
time and effort to train who for one reason or another has to give it up. I
also would prefer that he have a smooth short hair coat pure breed dog cause
it would be easier and cheaper to maintain. I don't have to have papers on
the level of purity of the breed of the dog if the owner does not have any
cause I am not out to make a fast buck of it. I would like to find an adult
in which ever sex is the easiest to deal with because the primary reason I
want the dog is to replace my border collie which died a few weeks ago due
to some sad unfortunate set of circumstances. This dog I want to adopt is
for my elderly father who is stricken with Parkinson's disease and needs an
additional companion to help him with his physical therapy conditioning. I
feel that if he finds a play partner that he can get great conditioning from
throwing balls, sticks, and Frisbees for the dog to retrieve and return back
to him. Also I am pondering the ideal of visiting hospitals, nursing homes,
and children homes, to when I have time to do some additional volunteering
with the little dog. Presently we reside out in the country in
Kentucky and have plenty of room for this dog to get plenty of exercise in.
The city is not far away for us to be able to make visit time permitting to
do volunteer work. I am not looking for a show dog nor expecting that.
However, here is a wish list of things I would hope this dog to have in
his/her portfolio of training:
1. Good Nature
2. Housebroken
3. Crate Trained
4. Obedience Trained
5. Trained in Retrieving Balls and Sticks
6. Trained to Catch Frisbees
7. Trained to lay down
8. Trained to sit
9. Trained to roll over
10. Trained to beg
11. Trained to speak
12. Trained to heel
13. Trained to come
14. Trained to jump
15. Trained to come
16. Trained to get someone when a ringer, alarm, or bell goes off and take
them to the source of the sound.
Any assistance and aid to find "Jack Russell Terrier" dog
that look much like the dogs....."T-bone." The Little Rascals
Dog.... "Petie," or "Fraiser's dog"..... which I don't
remember the name of........... would be greatly appreciated. We would love
to adopt and give it a loving and nurturing home with lots of attention by
many in my neighborhood and where I would love to do some volunteer work at.
I encourage you to place us on your list of people waiting to adopt if you
presently don't have one needing a home that fits my decription. Please
E-mail at this address and please state that you have a dog for adoption on
your E-mail Subject so that I will not inadvertently delete it prior to
opening it due to not recognizing your web address in return. You can also
call at 270-846-8452 too and leave a message on my voice mail if you would
rather and I will gladly return your call ASAP. Once again we
sincerely appreciate your time and efforts.
